4. Salmon

As part of a heart smart diet, salmon contains omega-3 fatty acids, protein and biotin. When consumed, biotin prevents nails from becoming brittle.
5. Citrus

An apple a day may keep the doctor away, but citrus foods, such as oranges, encourage nail growth while restocking the body’s folic acid levels.
6. Red bell peppers
Even though oranges contain vitamin C, red bell peppers contain even more. Because the body needs vitamin C to make collagen, which prevents nails from thinning, add some of these colorful veggies to a salad or wrap.
7. Milk

Milk is another excellent source of protein as well as calcium, so choose low-fat options to keep nails healthy and strong.
